Burundi is a hidden gem in the coffee world. The land is very fertile, rich volcanic loam soil which produces a clean cup known for having good acidity, a full body and complex fruity notes. This juicy light roasted microlot hails from the Murimirwa cooperative in the Gitega region that includes 26 women farmers. The coffee is depulped, double washed and double fermented, then sun-dried. This coffee bursts with passion of the growers. Most farmers own less than a hectare of land and come together in co-operatives to ensure fair and equal pay.
