Haiti, once one of the largest coffee exporters in the world, is reclaiming its place in the global specialty coffee scene. Coffee here is grown primarily by smallholder farmers and grown where mountainous terrain and Caribbean trade winds create the ideal growing conditions.
Savane Zombi is situated in the high southeast of Haiti near the Dominican border. Farmers in this area have been growing coffee for centuries. This balanced, well-rounded coffee is produced by the Association de Petits Producteurs de Cafe Colin and is the livelihood for 150 + families that comprise the cooperative.
